In this project connected with the topic of prehistory students create a Natural History Museum and they go on a guided tour of their museum.
- First students go on a visit to a virtual Natural History Museum (museum). Nominate individual students or pairs to come to the computer and navigate the visit. On the website they can move around the museum and explore different rooms. The teacher elicits names of exhibits and any information students may know about them.
- Students work in pairs to prepare exhibits for their museum. They have to draw their exhibits.
Here are some of my students’ pictures:
3. When the exhibits are finished and hung around the classroom students prepare for the role of museum guides. They write a short description of their exhibit.
4. After that they prepare for the role tourists and they prepare questions they may have abut the other exhibits:
5. Finally, students are taken by the teacher on a tour of their museum. They walk around the classroom, stop at each axhibit and act out their roles of guides and tourists.
